The Underground was opened in 1996 as an Adelaide Music Venue for local bands. All music styles are appreciated and welcome, though the most common gigs found at the Underground are Emo, Punk, Screamo, Hardcore, Metalcore, Metal and even some Mellow Acoustic.
The gigs are all ages, in a fun, safe environment. The Underground is NOT licensed, and as such no alcohol is allowed on site and no smoking in the building.
The former Underground was closed in early 2010 and as such a hole was left in the local music scene. NOW an all-ages venue provides support and an audience for bands of all ages, encouraging the local music scene is the primary focus of the venue. As of January 7th 2011, The Underground recommenced business. New location, new organisation but the same heart and vision for this city!
